This is so serene and lovely

After a long break, here's one of my critiques again

First of all, I personally think this is one of your best photos! You really hit the mark with this one.

I really like the contrast between the extremely blurry background, which is well visible divided into two parts, and the sharp foreground, which is composed of a single object and nothing which could distract the viewer - so you managed to create a simple, but accurate concept and realized it as good as possible! I really don't know what you could have done better... this is just perfect.

Moreover, the angle you've chosen, so that the halm "grows" from the darker, lower and smaller area into the brighter, higher and larger area of the background, gives the viewer a lot room for interpretation... I'm convinced you got your own idea what this photo is symbolizing, at least I got an idea. Why didn't you try to enlarge on that in the artist's comment? I really, really would like to know what you think about this picture and I would like to read about your own interpretation.

Whatever, this photo is amazing, I can't stop thinking about possible interpretations for it!

It is so good to hear from you Your critiques are always brilliant and valuable! I am going to try and explain (as well as I can) what this photo means to me. I was going to an island for Easter and I knew I was going to be alone for 3 or 4 days. I was missing someone because they had been away for a while too. You sort of had to be there to understand it but I loved how there was this tiny, beautiful plant thing that caught my attention rather than the background (the ocean with a whole heap of small islands). It reminded me about how this particular person makes me feel sometimes; like even though I am small and awkward, he still thinks I am beautiful and he sees me.
Does that make any sense?

Yea, you're interpretation definitely makes sense
My personal interpretation is a bit different, but I think that's due to the fact that I've got "more distance" to this picture - you developed it from the first view to the final photo, so you're sort of a part of it, you know?
This picture seems to be kind of a CV to me... Your life starts in the darkness, you're small and you don't understand what's going on in the world... but later on, while you're growing up, you come closer to the light, which symbolizes the awareness, and you start understanding the world and everything.

However people are interpreting this photo - it keeps being awesome. This is one of the best pics I've seen on dA so far, because it's one of the very few pictures which makes me starting to think about it - and about my own life, my friends, my family... everything. Brilliant.
